INSIDE THE STORY

When Numbers Stop Making Sense

Jayce drifts into a dream where numbers stop following the rules. “3 + 1 = 8?” “5 + 1 = pineapple?!” Nothing makes sense anymore. But as the world turns silly and confusing, Jayce learns to stay calm and find his way back to magic that adds up.

The Adventure

MEET JAYCE

Curious, even when things don’t make sense

Jayce is the kind of kid who notices when something isn’t quite right. When numbers suddenly stop making sense, he feels confused, surprised… and a little unsure. But instead of giving up, Jayce keeps trying, trusting what he knows, and working his way back to answers that finally make sense again. His story reminds kids that it’s okay to feel stuck sometimes—and that with patience and curiosity, things can start to make sense.

  • ✨ Curious and observant💙 Keeps trying, even when it’s hard🌙 Learns through mistakes

Hello from the Author

Ronald Plummer Jr.

Hi, I’m Ronald. I’m a children’s book author inspired by my son’s love of numbers, imagination, and learning.

The idea for Jayce and the Night the Numbers Went Wrong came one early morning when my four year old son woke up from a dream where numbers did not make sense. In his dream, 16 + 4 equaled 25 instead of 20, and even in his sleep, he knew it was wrong.

That moment stayed with me. It was not just about math. It was about curiosity, confidence, and how kids try to make sense of the world around them. I wanted to create a story that captures that feeling while making learning fun, engaging, and a little magical.

With a background in accounting and an MBA, I have always had an appreciation for numbers, which made this story even more meaningful to bring to life.

This book is the beginning of a journey to help children enjoy learning, ask questions, and build confidence, even when things feel confusing at first.

When I am not working on stories, I am spending time with my family and finding new ways to turn everyday moments into something meaningful and fun.

My goal is simple. To create stories that make kids smile, think, and feel confident in what they are learning.
